This last Friday, our very own Mr. Zelasney joined JAG to give 10-12th grade students some tips on how to give a proper hand shake, as well as how to make a good first impression. Mr. Zelasney taught us S.P.E.C.I.A.L, which stands for:
S - Shake hands
P - Posture
E - Eye Contact
C - Charm
I - Introduce Yourself
A - Ask a Question
L - Lean in & Listen
We practiced these skills and are ready to make a good first impression during employer engagement opportunities. Not only will we use this information in JAG, but students will take this with them throughout their lives to help them be successful. Last week a group of FFA students traveled to Gibbon Nebraska to compete in District Land Evaluation. It was a long day that started super early, however, overall they placed 16th as a team! Osceola also had 4 students come home with ribbons individually. For a lot of these students this was the first time they have competed, so I could not be more proud of them for taking a chance and trying their hardest!

The JH Volleyball team finished strong today! GBO
Over lunch today, the Junior & Senior JAG students hosted a JAG Celebration lunch for teachers! We are now in our Event Planning Unit, and students were challenged to plan and host a party.
The goal of this project was to, "Plan and host a celebration for JAG officers & Career Association members (all JAG students). Students are to invite people (they chose MS/HS teachers) to view their public product (their event) so they can learn more about what we have done in JAG so far this year, as well as the skills we have learned and built on."
Students helped to prepare food, create decor, and put together programs for our guests to view more information. During lunch, students sat with teachers to tell them about their experience in JAG so far, what they enjoy most about it, and what they look forward to doing.
